What is Gokigen Naname?

Gokigen Naname (also called Slant) is a logic puzzle invented by Nikoli. The grid is split into cells; every cell must contain exactly one diagonal line (either / or \). Numbers are placed at some corners and indicate how many diagonals touch that corner. The diagonals must not form any closed loops.

How do you play Gokigen Naname?

Click or tap any cell to cycle through empty, \, and /. Every cell needs a diagonal. Numbers at corners count how many of the surrounding cells' diagonals touch that corner. Plan ahead so the diagonals never form a closed loop of four or more cells.

What does a 0 clue mean in Gokigen Naname?

A 0 at a corner means none of the up-to-four cells touching that corner can have a diagonal pointing at it. A 4 means all four cells around the corner must have diagonals pointing at it. 1, 2, and 3 specify exact counts in between.
