How to Play Nurimisaki

Nurimisaki is a Japanese logic puzzle ("cape painting") played on a grid. Your goal is to paint cells white (filled) or leave them black (sea) so the picture satisfies every numbered clue. Each number tells you the exact count of consecutive white cells visible from that cell in at least one of the four cardinal directions. All white cells must form a single connected region — no isolated islands.

Controls: Click or tap a cell to toggle paint. Right-click (or long-press on mobile) to mark a cell as black/sea. Use the keyboard for speed: arrow keys move the cursor, Space paints, B marks black, C clears, H for hint, R to restart, Esc for the level menu.

Tips & Strategy

Start from the numbered clues on the grid edges — a clue of 4 on the border forces four cells in a straight line inward. Clues pointing toward an edge or another clue constrain each other, so cross-reference before committing. Use the Check button (✓) frequently to validate partial solutions — it catches contradictions early without costing a hint. When stuck, the Hint (💡) reveals one correct cell; you get three per level. Remember the connectivity rule: if painting a cell would isolate a white group from the rest, it must be black.
