How do I play Burn the Rope?

Tap or click on any rope to ignite it. Fire spreads upward along the rope. Use the arrow keys or on-screen buttons to rotate the world — fire only survives when burning upward. Burn every rope segment to win the level.

How does the fire spreading work?

Fire always spreads in the upward direction relative to gravity. When fire reaches a junction it splits and tries all connected branches, but flames only continue along branches that point upward. Rotate the playfield to redirect which way is up and guide flames to every rope segment.

What are the colorful bugs crawling on ropes?

Bugs are bonus collectibles. When fire reaches a bug it gets eaten for extra points and bonus stars. Eat all bugs in a level for a perfect 3-star rating.

There are 30 handcrafted levels across 6 tiers of increasing difficulty, from simple straight ropes to complex junction graphs with fireproof chains and precision rotation timing.
